The new label aims to help consumers distinguish Florida Citrus apart from the rest.
BARTOW, Fla. – The Florida Department of Citrus teamed up with the state’s “Fresh from Florida” campaign and Publix – one of the nation’s largest retail grocers – to help encourage consumers to choose Florida Citrus.
Beginning in mid-December, Publix customers will see a label featuring the FDOC’s “There’s Amazing Inside Florida Citrus” mark alongside the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ widely-recognized “Fresh from Florida” logo near the fresh fruit and refrigerated beverage aisle.
Publix has 1,093 stores across the Southeast.
The joint effort aims to help consumers distinguish Florida Citrus apart from competitors.
“Citrus is grown in many regions around the world, so it is important to help consumers identify Florida Citrus,” said Doug Ackerman, executive director of the Florida Department of Citrus. “This partnership helps consumers easily spot the fruit we know they prefer.”
