Japan has historically been, and continues to be, a primary export market for Florida Grapefruit and Florida Grapefruit Juice. As such, FDOC is determined to maintain, if not strengthen, this trade relationship going forward. Positively, this should be facilitated by the anticipated 27% rebound in exports to the market over the upcoming 2021-22 season. As Florida Grapefruit production begins to stabilize after several years of difficulty, FDOC’s MAP-funded trade and consumer programming in Japan will provide necessary marketing support to facilitate export growth for the Florida Citrus industry in the years ahead.
