A new study published in the Journal of Economic Entomology finds that the Asian citrus psyllid – the tiny bug responsible for the spread of HLB – doesn’t fare well at elevations of 500 meters to 800 meters above sea level, the Washington Post reports. Conducted in Puerto Rico, the study gives researchers new hope in finding an avenue to battle HLB.

Additional coverage of the study appeared in Entomology Today and Nature World News.
