Florida Orange Juice Orange Lettuce Wraps

Looking for an easy afternoon snack or something to pass around the dinner table? Try this citrus twist with these lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Florida Orange Juice
  • 1 head of butter lettuce
  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, grated
  • ½ red onion, diced and sautéed
  • ½ cup cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ cup red Thai chiles, thinly sliced
  • Crushed peanuts

Instructions

  1. Rinse lettuce leaves and pat dry, being careful not to tear them and set them aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with cooking oil. Add beef to the hot skillet and cook until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease; leaving the beef in the skillet.
  3. Add sautéed onion, ginger, and garlic followed by soy sauce, sesame oil, Florida Orange Juice, water, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  4. Bring to a boil, cook, and stir for about 2–5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Arrange by placing the meat mixture in the center of lettuce cups and garnishing with red Thai chiles, crushed peanuts, and cilantro!
